Boston Community Launch event coming up April 10

MinneAnalytics recently announced our first East Coast analytics conference in Boston, planned for August 2018. Like our Midwest events, expect an event experience that is accessible, authentic and engaging.

Imagine an all-day, multi-track event in the Boston area for 400-700+ people for free. Speakers confirmed so far include Keynote Tom Davenport of Babson College, Sanji Fernando of OptumLabs Center for Applied Data Science, and Alex Kravetz of Roivant Sciences.

“Our primary goal is to have an exceptional data science event that we are known for,” said Dan Atkins, MinneAnalytics executive director. “The secondary goal is to seed an organization like ours in Boston, and we are willing to fund it.”

Data science professionals in the Boston area are invited to meet our organizing team and share their ideas at a community launch event on Tuesday, April 10 at OptumLabs in Cambridge. If you are interested in advancing the analytics community and passionate about engagement with your peers, this event is for you.

Key needs to be discussed at the launch event include:

  • Venue Capacity for 400-700+ people in 3 to 6 rooms. We like college and corporate campuses. Stay close to the community.
  • Speakers Several speakers are confirmed, but we need another 30 or so.
  • Volunteers Session chairs, conference vice-chairs, registration help, etc.
  • VIP Venue We normally host a Thought Leader Reception the evening before our conferences so all the speakers, organizers, and leaders in the community build strategic relationships. Generally draws 100-120 invited guests.

We also want to establish relationships with East Coast colleges and universities. We had 437 students from 51 schools participate in our student data challenge late last year and we would like to expand this reach in 2018.

Feel free to share this with anyone in the Boston area that has a passion for building community in the Big Data, Analytics and Data Science space.
