As the Director, Sustainability Analytics & Business Intelligence, you will play a critical role in the successful development and execution of Cargill’s sustainability strategies. You will bring analytical leadership to the development of Cargill’s corporate strategies across our sustainability focus areas by guiding the organization on the business impacts of its sustainability commitments and choices. As these strategies move to execution, you will be responsible for developing and socializing the business cases for key sustainability-related projects. Additionally, you will lead the measurement and reporting for Cargill’s corporate sustainability goals, ensuring our progress is effectively communicated internally and externally.

Principal Accountabilities:

35% – Analysis and Insight

  • Lead necessary qualitative and quantitative analysis to support Cargill’s sustainable supply chains strategy development and execution across climate (scopes 1, 2, 3), water resources, and land use/forest protection and other focus areas.
  • Strategically structure analyses to overcome obstacles and enable informed decision making, working closely with Corporate Sustainability leads and business leaders to make progress on sustainability priorities
  • Determine key drivers and gather the necessary information to construct models that outline the financial and sustainability implications of sustainability initiatives
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and structure work plans to meet initiative goals and timelines
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of all relevant Cargill internal systems to enable data collection and analysis
  • Communicate business cases for sustainability initiatives to key internal stakeholders; become a trusted advisor

30% – Measurement and Reporting

  • Establish and manage Cargill’s system for tracking and reporting corporate sustainability targets
  • Coordinate closely with Corporate Affairs and businesses to report and communicate progress against Cargill’s key sustainability goals both internally and externally
  • Maintain a benchmarking view of Cargill’s relative position vs customers/competitors on sustainability focus areas
  • Manage sustainability-related data and tool subscriptions and budget

25% – Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategies to effectively and efficiently deliver data analytics support to Cargill’s sustainability efforts
  • Provide thought leadership around the strategies for measuring and modeling the impact of sustainability initiatives
  • Identify initiatives that have the potential for cross-business scalability and communicate to applicable central and business leadership

10% – People Management

  • Lead and provide direction to a small team of professionals



  • Bachelor´s Degree
  • Minimum 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in financial or operational analysis
    Financial and business acumen to strategically structure analyses
  • Experience with geo-spatial or graphical information system (GIS) tools
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills; ability to make data-driven recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work with partners to understand the business context
  • Experience with helping stakeholders use data and reporting to guide decision making and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate in ambiguous situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite


  • Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in finance, business intelligence and analytics, environmental science, engineering, business administration or a related discipline
  • Advance Degree in relevant business or technical discipline
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with sustainability reporting and KPI-related data and analysis
  • Experience with GRI, SASB or other sustainability reporting frameworks
  • Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment
  • Experience in Data Governance (data quality, meta data, usage)
  • Experience with process improvement programs
