Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst (Data Scientist)


Note: This is a contract-to-hire position, so the person hired would work 6-months as a Genesis10 Contract Employee before converting to a perm/FTE of our client.

This group within our client organization uses data to improve care management solutions (i.e., Nurse Line).  As a Sr. Data Scientist and member of the Technology & Innovations team, you will work with a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary team to apply analytic methods to deliver insights relative to operational performance, identify opportunities to improve services, develop and support client partnerships.   The analytics will inform and enhance performance evaluation, evidence generation activities, and risk based contract financial and outcome performance. The successful Sr. Data Scientist will translate business needs into analytic questions; design and conduct rigorous analyses of clinical information, medical claims, operational data and other data, and translate these analytic findings into predictive models and evaluation results for our business partners.


Serve as Sr. Data Scientist to support analytics on projects including the following activities:

  • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to determine how best to leverage predictive modeling to support business objectives
    Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to design and implement evaluations of services and solutions
  • Implementing sound analytic plans based on available data sources, business partner needs, and required timelines
  • Constructing, merging, and manipulating large electronic datasets using Python and SQL
  • Conducting extensive data analyses, including descriptive reports, multivariate regression models, and machine learning techniques
  • Supporting projects related to a wide variety of business settings and clinical needs
  • Creating reports of analytic findings in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, graphs, figures and tables), formulating recommendations for communication to non-analytic audiences


  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or finance with equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience working with electronic healthcare data or other large datasets
  • Proficiency in Python, Pandas and SQL for data access, manipulation, and analysis
  • Experience with open source Client libraries; SciKit-Learn, Plotly, Matplotlib, Numpy, Tensorflow,
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to interact with and influence decision-making by non-analytical business audiences
  • MS or advanced degree in relevant area
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as SpotFire or Tableau
  • >1 year in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in health services research and advanced Machine Learning techniques, including predictive modeling, study population selection, model feature selection, and statistical methodology (e.g., linear and non-linear regression, survival analysis and longitudinal repeated measures)
