ID Insight is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team! Data and analytics are at the heart of almost everything we do at ID Insight, and the role of the Data Scientist supports every stage of our product lifecycle, from development to deployment. In this role, your quantitative work will help to inform decisions about future product development efforts, demonstrate value for prospective ID Insight clients via back-testing, and ensure quality and stability of existing ID Insight solutions. This will involve defining and delivering reports, completing data studies, conducting statistical analysis and building models.

We’re a fast-growing, dynamic team, so expect to jump in and learn quickly. You will be working with statistical tools such as SPSS, KNIME, and R, as well as using other software such as Tableau, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. This position requires individuals that have some technical skills, are self-directed, and able to collaborate effectively on projects. As a Data Scientist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Pulling disparate “Big Data” files, merging them together into analytical datasets, and conducting data analysis
  • Developing and implementing statistical scoring algorithms for identity fraud detection  applications
  • Managing analytical projects that involve working directly with the customer at both a business and technical level
  • Assisting our technical team with Quality Assurance testing
  • Assisting our product team with the development of reporting dashboards using Tableau
  • Stepping into different roles when the time calls to help our team provide an extraordinary customer experience

We will favor applicants that have the following characteristics and background:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year university with college-level coursework in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science, etc.)
  • At least one year of professional experience
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in leveraging data to drive decisions
  • Proficiency with SPSS, R, SAS or other statistical software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Desire to collaborate within a team-first culture
  • Proficient in windows based applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to take initiative and the ability to thrive in an independent environment
