About this position
This position is remote hybrid, working onsite in the Minneapolis area and from home.  To be considered for this position, you must live in Wisconsin or Minnesota.

The Senior ACO (Accountable Care Organization) Analytics Analyst is responsible for leading population health analytics to improve the performance in value-based programs, contracts and initiatives including planning and evaluation of interventions and risk adjustment initiatives. Responsible for facilitating/conducting analysis that enables the ACO, health system, and strategic partners to assess and improve the performance of health care delivery. Providing critical support to the ACO and health system to accurately measure performance, understand key drivers and identify opportunities.This role will help to support our ACO strategy to advance the delivery of improved value to our customers and the populations we serve.

What we’ll expect from you

  • Lead analytic projects with payer, vendor, or joint venture partnerships in support of key strategic initiatives.
  • Assist ACO participants in organization of integrated datasets; including development of extraction quries, maintaing specs, and establishing, documenting, and supporting the automation of secure file transfer protocols.
  • Analyze integrated datasets including administrative medical claims, pharmacy transactions, electronic medical record, and/or other data sources.
  • Apply sound mathematical principles to analysis performed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of administrative databases, including key definitions, element names, relational structure, as well as significant caveats and coding systems.
  • Apply data mining techniques to identify medical/Rx cost and utilization drivers
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with standardized data, definitions, and methodologies for ad hoc reporting.
  • Ensures timely, efficient, and accurate flow of information for decision-making support.
  • Evaluate strategic programs across the organization for triple aim effectiveness.
  • Report quality measures performance, identifying opportunities to close care gaps
  • Become a data SME on data from payers and EMRs.
  • Summarize data and findings for internal and external audiences.
  • Create graphical and tabular data presentations, explain trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Provide written reports, white papers, and statistical analysis on selected issues and projects, as directed.

Education

  • BS/BA degree in healthcare, finance, business, computer science, public health, economics, or statistics.
  • Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with analytics and report writing in a healthcare environment and/or health informatics required
  • Experience with statistical software and tools such as SQL, R, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization applications (Qlikview preferred)
  • Experience working at a health plan, hospital system, ACO, provider organization, consulting firm, technology start-up, or has previous analytics experience and capabilities
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinics healthcare organization. • Ability to create and modify SQL queries and R programs to operate core department deliverables and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Good working knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding systems; ICD-10, CPT4, HCPCS,DRG.
  • Strong working knowledge of analytical techniques for predictive modeling, data mining, statistical analysis, etc.
  • Knowledge of common ACO programs (MSSP, IHP) and health plan based value programs.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well the ability to translate customer needs into the data analytic process.
  • Self-driven with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
