Position Overview
RGA seeks summer interns for the Technology Strategy department. This is an opportunity to learn and begin working side-by-side with technology teams specializing in business intelligence and data analytics. This posting is for a position within our Business Empowerment Center of Excellence, a team that helps to deliver and support innovative solutions involving business intelligence, data analytics, and robotic process automation.

The expectation is that all interns participate in a core training program that RGA will provide as well as limited review of new business cases; special projects/research assignments will be assigned among the interns and rotated as much as possible so they get a variety of experience.

Projects assigned will be both group and individual and will be based on department need at the time of hire date.


Sample Responsibilities Include:

  • Pair with a citizen developer to help support them in replacing a manual process using a self-service tool such as Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or UiPath
  • Assist the Business Empowerment Center of Excellence with developing and communicating best practices for reporting, automation, and data analytics
  • Create meaningful data visualizations and/or advanced workflows that effectively articulate their story to colleagues and executives
  • Build business case templates to support department and organizational decision-making for future use cases and solutions
  • Participate in special projects and assume additional responsibilities as necessary from time to time for the improvement of the technology solution performance for the region/company


  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree, ideally in a data-driven field
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; additional requirements may apply
  • Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions
  • Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate information in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships

Preferred skills/experience

  • Familiarity with best practices of data visualization and data analytics
  • Experience in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and/or Alteryx
  • Experience working with relational databases
