Position Summary:

We are seeking a Digital Analytics Engineer with a passion for digital tag management and site mapping. The ideal candidate will blend hands-on experience and technical know-how with a passion for tag implementation and tag management leveraging technologies like Google Tag Manager, Marketing Cloud Personalization and generalized interaction tagging.  They will lead and grow the tag management capability, manage standard and custom tag configuration for Google Analytics (UA and GA4) and 3rd party media, with understanding of DOM and developer tools, in a key role enabling data collection for robust digital analytics.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Web tracking – Configure and code standard and advanced/custom tags for data collection within Google Analytics, including testing/debugging
  • Media tracking – Ensure media campaigns and site experiences are accurately tracked, from landing experience to conversion
  • Tag Management platform administration – Determine administrative rules for the platforms to ensure future updates and changes are efficient and accurate
  • Support ongoing web development services, for various client websites/microsites
  • Work with stakeholders to understand and document business and functional objectives into technical requirements
  • Analyze change requests to determine feasibility in relation to existing requirements, processes, and data models
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the agency to continuously communicate status, manage changes and provide input into timing estimates
  • Lead and support client migrations to GA4 for legacy implementations, including broadly sharing thought-leadership in the domain
  • Documentation for internal team members as well as external clients / stakeholders

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, finance, or computer science or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in tag management (Google Tag Manager, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager, Tealium, or similar tag-management platforms)
  • An understanding of React, Angular, or similar Single-Page Application website architectures and implications for tagging approaches
  • Demonstrated expertise with standard and custom tag implementation
  • Functional knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Understanding of cookies and identity management
  • Strong project management skills, that includes the ability to prioritize tasks, proactively communicate potential conflicts, and track progress with project timelines/deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Curious minded, eager to learn, collaborative and ready to contribute your expertise
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Desire to work in a fun, fast-paced, creative environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience leveraging data layers to implement custom tracking solutions
  • Google Analytics certification (GAIQ)
  • Google Tag Manager training/certificate
  • Analytics/DB programming proficiencies (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Content Management Systems
  • Front-end/Web Development Capabilities
