A dozen data professionals came together at Cargill’s headquarters on October 4th to launch the first session of Mentorship Lab, an initiative by Social Data Science founders John Hogue and Abhishek Roy.
The program is designed to give would-be mentors and mentees a structured, low-stakes way to connect, share experiences, and practice effective mentorship. Through guided discussions and reflection exercises, participants explored what mentorship is—and isn’t—and how to build meaningful, lasting professional relationships.
John and Abhishek will be hosting a reprise of this mentor-focused workshop on November 7th, and they’re especially eager to welcome first-time mentors who want to grow their skills and give back to the data community. Sign up using the mentor interest form here.
Not a mentor? Interested mentees can use this form to stay tuned to the launch of mentoring circles in January.
