Thank you for volunteering your time to engage at MinneMUDAC and provide your invaluable feedback to these analytics-focused students.
Here’s how the judging will work:
- From 9 to 11 a.m., teams of judges will interview student teams on their data management and data analysis processes and procedures. We’re providing about 15 minutes per interview. Teams consist of 3-5 judges, so each judging team will interview about 8 student teams. Since we want each student team judged three times, we need over 10 judging teams, so please sign up today.
- We have already defined an initial rubric for judges to use to provide initial feedback to the teams. We’ll seek your feedback on the final rubric but all judging teams will have a rubric to work with to assure consistency.
- From the initial review done by the judging teams we’ll identify the top eight teams to present their findings, insights and recommendations. These will be identified in a judges’ meeting between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- From 2 to 4 p.m. the final eight teams will present their research findings and recommendations in a 15 minute presentation. Judges will be provided an electronic scoring system to provide individual feedback on each of the finalist teams. From the combined feedback we’ll determine the overall positions.
Bottom line, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. you’ll be interacting on a personal level with some of the finest young undergraduate and graduate students in the upper Midwest. You don’t need experience in all phases of data science. Technical data managers, data analysts and business domain resources will be teamed together so each can contribute their experience and expertise to the judging being done with the student teams.
We look forward to seeing you at MinneMUDAC on November 5.
