We are proud to share that Chris Malone was inducted as a Fellow of the American Statistical Institute (ASA) at the 2025 Joint Statistical Meetings earlier this month. The ASA bestows this distinction on no more than one-third of one percent of its membership.
The following was read at his formal induction: “For innovation and leadership in statistics curriculum development, for notable contributions to the growth of undergraduate data science programs, and for service to the wider statistics and data science education community.”
Chris is a professor of data science and statistics at Winona State University, and chair of the Mathematics & Statistics Department. He is the founder of the Midwest Undergraduate Data Analytics Competition (MUDAC) and an integral collaborator in our MinneMUDAC student data challenges. Congratulations Chris!
